Supporting teens since 1991

Tel-jeunes is a free, confidential frontline support service for teens aged 12–17 and their parents in Quebec.

Here, teens talk to trained professionals — not volunteers.

The team behind every conversation

At Tel-jeunes, counsellors are at the heart of our mission. Trained to support the realities of adolescence, they provide a safe space where teens can speak freely about their concerns, questions, and challenges.

Every conversation is grounded in core values: listening, respect, confidentiality, and non-judgment. Our goal is to help young people better understand what they’re going through and find ways to move forward with confidence.

Our Youth Advisory Commitee

The Youth Advisory Committee helps ensure that our services and content remain relevant and consistent for young people across Quebec. It also serves as a space for dialogue, encouraging youth participation while representing their needs and interests. The committee brings together dynamic and engaged youth, aged 14 to 18, from diverse backgrounds and regions of Quebec.

Our Story

The Beginnings of Tel-jeunes

Founded in 1981 by Céline Muloin, the organization Parents anonymes Rive-Sud provided support and a listening ear to parents in need. With a mission to prevent child abuse, it offered support groups and a helpline. After expanding across Quebec in 1984, the service officially became LigneParents in 1998.

A Resource Dedicated to Youth

Over time, the need to directly support teenagers became clear. In 1991, Tel-jeunes was launched, providing a free and confidential helpline specifically for young people. Thanks to support from public figures like Marina Orsini, Tel-jeunes quickly gained recognition and became an essential resource in Quebec.
